I was directed to Chabitnoy’s work by another poet in 2023. And from that recommendation, and after reading the work, I invited Chabitnoy to Wheaton College for a poetry festival, Many Voices, Many American Poetries. I was drawn to the many symbolic dimensions of the salmon in micro-REVIEW: How to Dress a Fish (Wesleyan University Press, 2019), and the students were drawn to the feminism in her second book.
